New tutorial: Integrating Amarisoft Callbox & Benetel RUs

By October 13, 2026No Comments

Benetel is pleased to announce the availability of a new integration guide providing engineers and developers with a practical,  step-by-step technical tutorial for integrating the Benetel RAN650 5G Radio Unit with the Amarisoft Callbox using the O-RAN 7.2 interface.

The tutorial takes users through the integration process from initial hardware and network configuration through to synchronisation, radio configuration and operational verification.

The guide covers:

  • Fronthaul network configuration
  • O-RAN User and Control Plane connectivity
  • Precision Time Protocol (PTP) synchronisation
  • Benetel RAN650 Radio Unit configuration
  • Amarisoft Callbox gNB configuration
  • Startup and verification of operation
  • O-RAN LLS-C3 architecture setup

The example setup uses the Benetel RAN650 n77u, with a 100 MHz radio bandwidth, 30 kHz subcarrier spacing and 4×4 MIMO configuration. The guide also provides configuration details and practical examples covering the network interface, VLAN configuration, PTP Grandmaster and gNB/RU synchronisation, helping users understand the requirements for bringing the two platforms together.

For developers, researchers and organisations evaluating open private 5G solutions, detailed integration resources such as this provide an important starting point for testing multi-vendor architectures and exploring standards-based 5G deployments.  Please note that, while the tutorial focuses on the RAN650 n77u, other Benetel RAN650 outdoor variants and RAN550 indoor radio units can also be used, with the appropriate frequency and transmit-power configuration for the specific use case.
